WLOTA Lighthouses Expeditions Lectures :

            § - WLOTA 0684 Mocha Island by CE6AMN / CA6UTF
Mocha Island is located in Chile's coast, in front of the limit between Bio-Bio region and Araucanía region, 34 kilometres far from Tirúa city.Administratively it depends on Bio-Bio region. Its geographical location is 38º23'06'' south latitude and 73º52'00'' west longitude.

Barred shelves and beaten by the currents of Fromveur, Ushant always built a world with it, rythmé by the storms , nearer to the universe of the Ocean than of that of the men. Men born marine ,and centuries during, died at sea, far as of their, honoured by the ritual with Proëlla , Men , facing with the danger of their life, trimmings of the dangerous island to carry out acts of bravery. Women getting busy with the breeding of the sheep, the spinning mill and the culture, while the men sail, Women for whom Ushant remains their stronghold : " the Island of the Women " .... People of traditions and piety whose life is woven on a screen of misfortunes... the shipwrecksA ground in freedom animated by the wings of the mills... and crossed by the birds...An island, whose agriculture worked the landscapes ... An attaching island offering its coasts to the violence of the winds and the legendary storms...

            § - WLOTA 1276 Anaga Lighthouse - Tenerife Island by EA8AY
The Lighthouse is nailed on one of the steepest and isolated places in the Tenerife Island, over the Roque Bermejo, and on the middle slope of the Tafada mountain. It consists of a lightly conical tower with a white prismatic lantern, and a building of the same colour with edges of grey stone. Accessing the lighthouse is very difficult, weather by boat or by land, through a mid to high difficulty mountain footpath. As we could not get a boat, we had to walk to the lighthouse, carrying everything used in the operation. each operator had to take on some 40 kg !
